Kransekage/Kransekake/Kransekaka

I'm not sure how much history is available about "Kransekake" - but, I would love to share the information I was able to discover! "Kransekake/Kransekaka" - the Norwegian spelling ("Kransekage" is the Danish spelling) means "ring cake" or "wreath cake." Kransekake is made from almonds, powdered sugar and egg whites. This is a cake that is traditionally eaten on special occasions: weddings, Christmas, New Year's, baptisms, or other high holidays. Flags, gifts or other decor is usually placed on the cake for decoration. This site will give you more information.
